Alpha Mind - Electronic music project homepage

Alpha Mind is an electronic music project by Jarno Kauppinen. I´m 26 year-old composer from Kajaani, Finland. I began composing about 8 years ago and knew very little about music theory back then. The first program I used was Dance Ejay. It was a good program to learn song structures but it offered nothing more than just ready-made sounds that you could arrange in any order you want.

After Dance Ejay I have tried many programs like Modplug Tracker, Jeskola Buzz and Fruity Loops. They were good programs but not so easy and intuitive to use. The search of the "perfect" software continued and finally I found Propellerheads Reason. Okay.. it was not easy to learn but so addictive that a "little control-freak" woke inside of me and I wanted to learn more. Now I have composed music many years with Reason. It still doesn´t support VST-plugins but because it works together with Ableton.. I can use VST-plugins anyway.

During the past years I have made different kind of music (trance, ambient, chill) and I have had the honor of being a part of the Sonic Architects. Nowadays it is a part of group called Evoke. It is an international group of young and talented designers, artists, photographers, and musicians around the world.
